The End of Ramadan...The Eid

Ramadan wrapped up on Friday, September 10th in its grand finale: The Eid. This day marked the end of the fast, so for the first time in over a month, families gathered around the kitchen table in the Morning for breakfast...it was SO strange to me, after a month of no meals before 6pm!! The rest of the day was spent relaxing, receiving friends and family...and of course, continuing to make good use of the lift of the ban on food. :) Everyone was in a good mood (most notably, I'm sure, the taxi drivers !) and seemed ready to get back into the groove of life as "normal." (Though for me, the Ramadan schedule was the only normal I'd known..."starting over" would be interesting!) Leading up to the Eid were several other special "end of Ramadan" events, including the Night of Power the Tuesday evening before. I've detailed a more full explanation in my Flicker pics... click on the link below for the story!
